About us

About the team

Geom is a team of architects, homebuilding operators, and AI engineers who have worked together across multiple startups and industries. We've built companies, products, and teams together before, and bring a shared understanding of what it takes to turn ambitious ideas into tools that work in the real world.

We started Geom because production homebuilding runs on real-world complexity: national standards, regional and division variation, sales option workflows, and product catalogs carrying years of revisions in CAD. That complexity is handled today by skilled people doing repetitive translation, checking, and drafting work.

We're not trying to replace the design process. We automate the repetitive work around it — inside the tools, file formats, and data homebuilders already use, so teams keep their standards and their process while the manual work in between disappears.

About our founder

Shanna Tellerman is founder and CEO of Geom, working at the intersection of design, technology, and the built environment for her entire career. In 2015, she founded Modsy, a pioneering e-design and 3D visualization platform backed by TCV, Norwest, and GV and was acquired by Lennar. Following the acquisition, she served as Chief Product Officer of Lennar Corporation, gaining a ground-level understanding of what it takes to design and build homes at scale, a perspective that shapes how she thinks about the industry today. industry today.

Before Modsy, Tellerman founded Wild Pockets (Sim Ops Studios), a Carnegie Mellon University spinout acquired by Autodesk in 2010, where she went on to serve as Product Line Manager, launching Autodesk's cloud platform and Autodesk 360 applications. In between, she spent two years as a partner at Google Ventures, leading investments in design and technology platforms — including early bets on Jet.com and LeTote — and working closely with founders to scale early-stage companies.

Tellerman is a Carnegie Mellon alumna (MET and BFA), a longtime advisor to Illuminate Ventures, and a member of CMU's College of Fine Arts Dean's Council. She has been named one of BusinessWeek's Best Young Entrepreneurs, featured in Harvard's Tony Wagner's Creating Innovators, and named among the Silicon Valley Business Journal's Women of Influence.
